What's your story?
Rasti Vaibhav is an Architect and ex-Fund Manager where he directly managed $2 billion and is now serving as Australia’s ‘go-to’ property portfolio strategist. As a self-made robust portfolio owner himself, he uses his unique property wealth blueprint, which combines strategic diversification and sharp negotiation skills to identify ideal opportunities tailored to his client’s circumstances. Rasti has made property investing the ‘vehicle of choice’ for financial independence and lifestyle choices with a keen interest in wealth building. He is the founder and Managing Director of Sydney-based licenced independent buyer’s agency Get RARE Properties, buying properties Australia wide.
What excites you most about your industry?
One of the best ways to generate a passive income is by investing in property. It gives you the freedom to design your life the way you want. Every day I help people build their wealth through property investments, to work less and have more time to enjoy their lives. As a result, my clients can confidently and safely achieve their financial goals, so they no longer need to stress over having enough money to live on or saving enough for their retirement.
What drives you in business to push beyond what other people consider normal?
When I help my clients who are busy professionals to achieve their property portfolio goals. I teach them how to take proven stress-free steps to grow their wealth and make their hard-earned money work harder. I also teach them how to build a diverse property portfolio that will generate a passive income year after year, allowing them to achieve their financial freedom earlier. The smiles and satisfaction of the families drive me to help them more.
What have been the most useful skills you have learnt and applied in your journey?
I recently learned that if you believe in yourself and want to give back to the community, you need to come out of your comfort zone and spread your education. You need to find the purpose of your life. Once you find your pathway to dharma, the satisfaction you get in helping others is then endless. You will never want to stop giving more which will bring you more happiness.
What’s the best piece of advice you ever received?
The best advice I ever received is to have the right mindset and strategy to start any journey and have a coach to guide you through your journey. Your coach will give you honest feedback and honest evaluations. They will give you the feedback you need without fearing how you will take it. It would be best if you had a growth mindset that will help you see life as an unlimited opportunity to conclude new things and appreciate that failure is part and a package of learning and progress.
Who inspires you?
All my inspiration comes now by helping families to achieve their financial goals. When I help people strategise their right path, it gives me immense satisfaction to handhold them from the start to the end of their journey. We are official sponsors of “So They Can”
(https://www.sotheycan.org/) and we believe in their mission that education is the key to breaking the poverty cycle. Whenever I help them, it gives me more inspiration to help others.
What have you learnt recently that blew you away?
I believe that a lot of what we are taught at school is flawed. School is about achieving excellent grades, but it doesn’t adequately prepare us to achieve financial independence. Instead, tertiary education sets us on a single professional path to buy a house and pay off debt for the next 30 years. If I followed this path, I would still be working for my manager and stressing about paying off my debts and mortgage. Most people are too afraid to leave a stable job to pursue their passion. To achieve your goals, you need to set long term goals.
If you had your time again, what would you do differently?
I think whatever I have achieved in my life; I have learned a lot from it. I have taken every setback as a challenge to improve myself more. It has helped me over time to embrace my risk to be successful. If I had my time again, I would start my journey for financial independence at an early age with the best coach and right experienced team around me to guide me through my journey.
How do you unwind?
I love reading books and spending time with my family. To unwind, I generally go for a 30 min run while listening to my audiobooks. I believe that reading books helps you expand your exposure in understanding the subject. Listening while running helps me meditate and helps me stay healthy, and brings much positive energy. Spending time with my daughters is a great stress-buster too. I listen to music with them while playing table tennis.
What is a major mindset change, belief shift or ‘ah ha’ moment that you’ve experienced in relation to your business?
Strategy is the real difference between property investing and successful property investing. The right strategy is the difference between 1-2 investment properties and 5+ properties to make your portfolio. That how investing in property helps you create a positively geared portfolio of rental properties that will pay you an excellent annual salary so you can quit the ‘nine-to-five grind’ if done strategically right. To do property investing, you need to take it as a business and not as a hobby.
Everyone in business should read this book:
Property investing is simple, but successful investing is not. Historically, much of the world’s wealth has been generated through the acquisition of real estate. Unfortunately, most people fail to build their wealth by investing in properties. It would be best if you envision your plan, design it, and then execute it. In a nutshell, you need a strategy to serve you as the blueprint to develop your robust property portfolio. I wrote a book that will help you understand more: The Property Wealth Blueprint. Enjoy reading.
Shameless plug for your business:
I help people achieve financial freedom by:
- Setting a precise, personalised strategy to build a risk-aware property portfolio to achieve your financial goals
- Ensuring they buy the right properties in the right locations for the right price, and
- Having the right team in place to help them build their property portfolio.
I focus on building the right strategy by understanding their long-term goals and help them design their life the way they want.
